Peter Lenda

Peter Lenda specialises in technology and digitalisation, focusing on:

• ICT law
• Intellectual property law and the securing of such rights and patents
• Data protection (eller Protection of privacy), data security and regulations on new technology

He has over 20 years’ experience from both the supplier and customer side. Through his experience he has gained a unique insight into and understanding of the business models, contracts and intellectual property rights of technology companies. Next to the ICT sector, he regularly also works with sectors such as banking (fintech), health (healthtech/biotech), property (proptech) and public.

Peter has extensive experience in the development of technology businesses, protection of their rights, patents and trade secrets. He is well versed in most types of  IT contracts and services, from the simplest aid agreements to cloud services and complex management and outsourcing agreements. As operationally responsible for the entering into contract and quality assurance of IT agreements over a number of years, he has extensive knowledge of all Norwegian standard agreements within IT, and their advantages and disadvantages. His experience with the practical sides of IT procurement, projects and deliveries is used in advising clients in all stages of the IT delivery’s life span, from the preparation of IT procurement strategy, the understanding of requirements and analysis, tender documentation, implementation of procurement and preparation of contracts and negotiations, as well as the administration and implementation of projects.

From 2012 to 2020, Peter was legal director of Sopra Steria – one of Norway’s largest and leading IT consultancy firms within digitalisation, IT transformation, innovation, application development and management, as well as cloud services and platforms. Peter has also lead Group Procurement IT in DNB, with responsibility for all the group’s IT procurements, including having negotiated and managed one of DNB’s largest IT contracts.

Peter regularly gives lectures, holds courses, seminars and workshops within his specialist areas and is in particular involved in the training of IT consultants in their understanding of IT agreements.

Within the “in-house” lawyer sector, Peter has been ranked in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist for Norway in 2017 and 2019. He is also a member of the expert committee for ICT law at JUS [The Lawyers’ Education Centre].
